Building full-stack business-defining products.

About

I'm a cross-functional technology, product, and data executive with a proven track record of building and leading teams across industries to deliver business-defining products and the full-stack platforms that power them.

David is Director of Product Management, Next Gen Platform at the NBA, leading product strategy for the NBA's direct-to-consumer platform and services powering experiences globally. His team is responsible for personalization and AI, content and media publishing and distribution, growth and engagement, core architecture and APIs, and the centralized data and analytics stack. He evolved the platform to support the personalized “Story of the Season” and “For You” app homepage.

He is an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School teaching Python for MBAs in the Decision, Risk, and Operations program. The course spans data science and analytics, web scraping, APIs, and automation, focusing on how the technologies come together to create products.

Prior to joining the NBA, he was a member of the executive team and the Vice President of Global Business Technology and Data at Birchbox. He led Subscription Technology & Operations, Data, and Platform Product Management and was actively involved in the sale of the company. Over 6+ years at Birchbox, he built out teams, technical products, and operational and logistics systems to deliver full-stack personalized experiences across digital properties and physical shipments to millions of customers. He began his career in strategy and business operations at early-stage music technology ventures.

David earned an MBA from Columbia Business School with honors and distinction and was awarded the Nahum Melumad Memorial Prize – the highest honor given to a member of the graduating class. He holds a BA from the University of Rochester, where he studied Economics, Computer Science, and Music and was a Kauffman Entrepreneurial Fellow.

He is a member of the New York Area Advisory Board of Music Will (formerly Little Kids Rock), a music education charity, and advises early-stage startups.
